Ezra Winton is a curator, writer and teacher. He has a PhD in Communication Studies and is Assistant Professor in Journalism and Mass Communication at the American University in Bulgaria. He writes about and does research on the intersection of ethics, politics, justice and media - especially non-fiction media. For the last few years he has focused on documentary film and film festivals and has several publications out in those areas. Ezra co-founded Cinema Politica, an international grassroots activist film screening network and distributor, in 2003 with Svetla Turnin.  He is a contributing editor at POV Magazine and a recovering carpenter whose claim to fame was working on the original X-Files making UFOs. He spends his time in Sofia and Montreal and grew up in K'ó'moks territory on Vancouver Island, where his expansive family still lives. You can learn more about Ezra and his work here.
